My Parkinson’s symptoms have receded since I took actions I took to fix my Parkinson’s disease causes. I now live free of Parkinson’s symptoms and free of drugs, too.
I am Colin Potter. 66 years old and a four year Parkinson’s diagnosis. When I was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, I was shocked that my neurologist made no attempt to establish what was causing my Parkinson’s, and that he subsequently proposed no direct course of action to arrest its damaging consequences. He simply suggested that I take drugs to “help” with my Parkinson’s symptoms.
This approach shocked me more than the diagnosis itself. It was the first time that I had encountered a disease where my doctor wasn’t interested in investigating the causes and putting a stop to the problem. It seems this approach is routine when it comes to Parkinson’s disease causes.
I don’t like being on the receiving end of this type of approach, especially with a condition with a serious prognosis like Parkinson’s. So, after two years of decline, I embarked on a programme of thorough research into the possible causes of Parkinson’s disease, and the actions I could take to fix the problems.
I soon encountered PubMed, the online database of the US National Library of Medicine which stores the published medical research studies from the likes of universities and clinical research centres from all over the world. It features over 25 million studies into a wide variety of conditions, including Parkinson’s disease. And there, staring me in the face were numerous, independent studies by authoritative research bodies which indicated possible Parkinson’s disease causes. The wrong diet was heavily implicated, as was cellular inflammation, cellular oxidation, and deficiencies in certain nutrients.
So, two years ago, I set about taking action to address each of these possible causes. Now, 2 years later my symptoms have reversed and I live with my Parkinson’s firmly under control. I stopped taking levodopa medication one year ago.I had nothing to lose by taking personal control of my health, as I wasn’t passing up on some miracle cure which my doctors had available. I’m really glad I did this because I seem to be escaping the fate bestowed on others, diagnosed at the same time, and who are on a path of steep decline.
